Invest in memories that last a lifetime

and support Mary Potter Hospice with

Bev Short Photography

Would you like to have pictures of you or your family, something to treasure and show off with pride?

Bev Short's photography captures the real person behind the face. Her approach is informal and enjoyable so that relaxed and spontaneous images are captured. The location could be a favourite beach, the park, your garden or your home - it's your choice.

What's more, with every session you book through Bev, you are also supporting Mary Potter Hospice. She will donate $100 from her session fee to Mary Potter Hospice.

A sessions costs $290 and takes as long as is needed to get the images you are happy with. Bev offers a range of print options to suit your needs and her prices are reasonable. There is no "pressure sale" to buy more than you want to.

Please feel free to call Bev on 021 234-5625 or email her and you can have a chat about what you would like to do.

Some words from Bev

The photographs you see surrounding these words are not just of clients' families but are also of my own family. The pictures shown here were the last I ever took of my Mum and Dad when they visited New Zealand from the UK in 2005. Less than 12 months later my Dad died of multiple brain aneurisms and my Mum was diagnosed with a brain tumour just six months after that. She died within another 10 months.

I became a photographer at about the age of 14. I wanted to document my world - my friends, my family, my dog, my school. I can look back now over the past 30 years of memories - some in frames, most in albums. I can transport myself back in time to my first school disco, my first disastrous perm and, most importantly, the people who made up my life at the time.

My parents are now no more and husband and my 2 daughters are my only family. In some ways, though, it feels like Mum and Dad are still with me when I look at their photos hanging on the wall. I wouldn't be without these pictures that bring me closer to their memory and to the people they were before they became ill.

It is with all the above in mind that I approached Mary Potter Hospice with my portraiture idea. To try to impress upon 'well' people the importance of photos of their loved ones - to have these memories to treasure for a lifetime - and at the same time help Mary Potter Hospice with a donation of $100 from each portraiture session.
Don't put off those photos you've thought about being taken any longer. My own experience has proven that there may not be a 'next time' or 'next year'. You won't regret it. It'll be fun and you'll have some great pictures. It won't cost the earth and you'll also help Mary Potter Hospice in the process.

I hope to hear from you.

Best wishes

Bev Short
