Welcome! Haere Mai!

Mary Potter Hospice Palliative Care Education and Training Programme for Health Professionals 2014

Our education and training programme for 2014 provides a wide range of learning opportunities for health professionals, health workers, community colleagues and groups.

Our aim is to provide and promote evidence based knowledge, skills and attitude to meet the needs of their patients, clients, families and whānau.

The workshops are provided in a supportive environment that meets the needs of health workers working across the range of sectors and services providing palliative and end-of-life care.

The learning activities and methods we use provide an opportunity for experiential, exploratory and collaborative learning. We encourage and welcome participation and interaction from the course participants.

We foster and maintain strong links with the tertiary educational institutions including the University of Otago, Wellington School of Medicine, Victoria University of Wellington, Massey University of Wellington and Whitireia Community Polytechnic. Some of our staff are visiting lecturers at these institutions.

As a specialist centre we can also negotiate targeted onsite training for a range of health professionals and allied health workers, specialist sectors and community groups.
