it's only part of what we do - but everything we do depends
on it!
It is thanks
to the generosity of our community that our services can remain free.
About half
our total running costs are provided by the Government each year; the
other half, over $3million, is raised by the Funding Team with the help
of the community.
We are proud
to be regarded as one of Wellington's most loved and trusted charities
and this is reflected in our fundraising practices:
- We keep
our fundraising expenses well within industry guidelines
- We carry
out our own fundraising supported by volunteers
- We do
not employ fundraising companies or pay commission, we do not engage
telemarketing organisations or undertake door to door collecting.
Become
a supporter
Your organisation may become a supporter of the Hospice. You may wish
to make a donation or there are many other ways you could raise money
such as through staff programmes, holding an event, having a "Time
to Remember" dinner, donating money in lieu of corporate Christmas
gifts, selling an item.
