New Zealand's well-known broadcaster and gardening icon, Maggie Barry, has been an advocate for quality palliative care for more than a decade and has had personal experience with the Hospice when her father used the service.

Maggie says "When my father was dying I became aware of how fraught it can be to find access to the right level of care, and the vital importance of support for family and friends. The compassionate care provided by the Hospice allowed him to live his remaining life with dignity and without pain. As Ambassador, I hope I can help make people more aware of what a valuable resource the Hospice is - and the importance of community support so that it can continue to provide its services free of charge."

Mary Potter Hospice is thrilled to have Maggie on board as Ambassador and believes that the relationship provides a fantastic opportunity to raise public awareness of the work the Hospice does in the community.
